Deep sea mining will produce far too few benefits for the harm it will cause. That is the result of an analysis by marine scientists and policy experts from around the globe, led by Dr. Rashid Sumaila from the University of British Columbia.

BC ‘Not Effectively Managing’ Hazardous Spills, Auditor General Says

“Overall, we concluded that the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy had not effectively managed hazardous spills,” B.C. auditor general Michael Pickup said, following the report’s release. “The program is designed for there to be consequences, but those responsible for spills don’t comply with the law.” Read full article.
