Here are some of our recent highlights:
- Our work to communicate the risks of open-net pen salmon farms has helped remove over one-third of operating farms from BC waters;
- Working directly with major grocers and seafood brands, we’ve helped improve the traceability of seafood, helping the ocean-friendly seafood movement to make responsible seafood purchases;
- Clear the Coast has removed over 50 tonnes of marine debris from sensitive remote Vancouver Island foreshore;
- Our work on seafood certification has raised the bar for certification and exposed certification of unsustainable fisheries and aquaculture operations; and
- Our testimony at the House of Commons Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans exposed the deliberate suppression of science at DFO and helped craft 48 recommendations aimed at science-based decision-making and ecosystem-based management.
